Binah docs¶
Daily training for understanding what you read, weighing what you hear, and saying what you mean.
These pages explain how Binah works, from the daily edition and the seven games to the ratings, the golden set and the monthly benchmark, and how to run your own copy. If you're new to it, start with What is Binah?, which gives you the whole picture in a few minutes, and then Install and devices. If you'd like to try one game before any of that, stuffs.tiresia.xyz/binah runs Technique or Fair Move? in your browser. Basically, the first three pages are for anyone, the middle ones are for using it, and the last two groups are for running it and working on it.
Getting started¶
- What is Binah?: what it does, what works where, and what it connects to
- Why I made it: the research behind it, and what I want out of it
- Install and devices: the web app, building the Mac and Android apps, and connecting them
Using Binah¶
- The daily edition: the recall card, the three games, answer, verdict, revise, reference, and the week
- The games: all seven, how each one is played and how it's scored
- Ratings and the golden set: the Skills screen, how ratings move, and checking Claude's grades against your own
- The monthly benchmark: the sealed test, a sitting, and reading the results
- Speaking: Just a Minute, the benchmark talk, and how speech is measured
Running your own copy¶
- Your own server: setting it up, the settings file, the passage engine, the nightly run, and backups
Under the hood¶
- DESIGN.md: the plan and the research behind every game, rule and number
- ENGINE.md: the passage engine that mines your own books, and its first run
- OPERATIONS.md: how my own copy runs, deploys and gets a sandbox
- API.md: every request and answer the app uses, for a native client or your own scripts
- DEVELOPING.md: the code layout, the two looks, working from source, the tools and the public taste page, and building and testing the apps
- mac/README.md and android/README.md: the two apps in detail
